Ever Mountain College is not a real school.
But the application is real.
This is a creative admissions experience—run as a free-entry contest.
You’re not being graded.
You’re being considered.
WHAT YOU’RE APPLYING FOR
A small number of applicants will be accepted.
From those accepted:
• Four will receive awards
• Others will simply be admitted
The Awards
Each award corresponds to one of the application questions.
The Wonder Award
For noticing something others might miss—and doing something with it.
How it’s chosen:
Awarded to the applicant who shows a genuine sense of curiosity—someone who pays attention in a way that leads to an unexpected or original idea. Judges look for specificity, surprise, and a clear connection between what was noticed and what it inspired.
The Studio Award
For what you choose to do when given space, time, and no instructions.
How it’s chosen:
Awarded to the applicant who demonstrates initiative and direction in open conditions. This response reveals how someone begins—what they reach for first, how they structure their thinking, and whether they move with intention rather than waiting for guidance.
The Builder Award
For a relationship with your work that feels real and unfinished.
How it’s chosen:
Awarded to the applicant who shows persistence, depth, and an ongoing engagement with their work. Judges look for honesty about process—especially where something remains unresolved, difficult, or still evolving.
The Risk Award
For the work you’re not entirely ready to explain.
How it’s chosen:
Awarded to the applicant who takes a meaningful creative risk—whether emotional, conceptual, or personal. This is not about shock or performance, but about stepping into something uncertain and showing up (and your work) anyway.
What You Get
If accepted, you’ll receive:
A formal (and entirely useless) acceptance to Ever Mountain College
A digital acceptance graphic
Recognition from faculty (and possibly the mountain)
A few applicants will also receive small prizes.
